Well, this is my first post of the new year. Been busy working on a few new projects, among them one of special importance to Beatles fans (including myself): a John Lennon package. As I start making some discretionary decisions it would help to have your input, so please feel free to comment here or email me.
Undoubtedly the artwork that accompanied the three “experimental” John and Yoko albums (aka Two Virgins, Life With The Lions and the Wedding Album) and the Live in Toronto album, is phenomenal. There is no question I will include stunning new prints of all of it. My first question to you is: how many of you actually own these albums on CD? Should the Box have specific spaces to store these CDs or would you find this odd for a Box to store your JL CD collection?
To be clear, it will definitely have places to store these CDs if you own them…i am just wondering if I should put these spots up front in their chronological logical locations, with mini LP art as was done with the Beatles, or should I just allow for empty, more generic spaces you can use to store them in additional CD spaces following the more traditional JL catalog of CDs?
Box of Vision-- Blog of Vision 
I would perfer the concept of the Beatles Box to remain the same. Put in all John Lennon albums, in the chronological order. Those cds are avaliable somewhere in the world, you just have to find them. I would only like to see studio albums included, and maybe his live albums. I am not a big fan of putting compilations in the Box. I would like to see the John Lennon Box keep the same dimensions of the Beatles Box, except adjust the thickness as needed. You can sign me up now, because I’ll be ordering one of these.
Having purchased the Beatles Box of Vision, I would not be interested in something like it for Lennon or McCartney, and I own most of their respective catalogues.
I would be interested in a box for such artists as Led Zep, Pink Floyd or Rush.
Tell me why? I’m obviously curious why a Lennon (or McCartney) one would not interest you…
I suppose the main reason would be that the solo catalogues don’t hold the same importance to me. While I have most of their catalogues on cd, another box doesn’t seem to interest me.
What does interest me is a Led Zep or Pink Floyd box of vision.
I suggest to put in chronological order all of the the JL CD’s (including the live ones) that has real musical content only.
As for the three JL/YO experimental CD’s (I don’t own the CD versions) and the compilation boxed sets, saving generic spaces for them would suffice. Adding the artwork on the storage pages wouldn’t really make much of a difference. I do have the Anthology and the “LENNON” boxed sets, and would not mind storing them in the BOV just to make the box feel complete.
What I would be looking forward though would be the catalography book with ALL of John’s album artworks including the boxed set compilations.
It would be nice if you can include a special CD of John’s other unreleased demos (complete songs only) if there are still any more out there. The song Now and Then have been cleaned and there are various remixed versions floating around in youtube . . .
BTW, irregardless of the final product design, I’m sure it will be just as great as the Beatles BOV! You can sign me up for one already!

Just curious, but how long do you think it will take you to complete this project? I know the Beatles Box was years in the making.
Working on it with all deliberate speed! We’ll see how it goes, but not nearly as long as the Beatles took!
I really do not see the need to label the cd locations for the new JL box.
I also felt it was unnecessary for the Beatles BOV.
Just leave enough room for the entire catalog.
BOV for lennon and mccartney cds etc would be great (and likewise for harrison and starr).
For me and others the cover art reproduction and inserts is paramount and if in doubt include it ie even variations of the one sleeve (perhaps the variations all on one page in addition to the main cover on its own separate page)
Most people do not own the experimental JL/YO albums (I have them though) and nor would they be interested in buying them to complete the JL Box of Vision. I say leave a blank page in the back that can be moved to the front but start with Plastic Ono Band and EVERYTHING after that.
I think there’s interest in a Paul McC or GH Box of Vision too. Unfortunately there will not be the same interest for Ringo even though I would buy it.
I have all of John’s solo cds, including the notorious first few and would appreciate the proper page and sleeving for them in a potential BoV for the Lennon collection. Thanks!

I would only be interested in the non avantgarde Apple/Geffen/Polydor releases–not Zapple or the subsequent compilations or live releases post-“Milk and Honey.” More specifically….

If you choose to leave out the “Two Virgins”,”Life With The Lions” and “Wedding Album”, a lot of people (including me) will be hugely disappointed.
All three albums are in the Box of course! All of the amazing artwork and spaces to store the CDs if you choose.
